Aspen Ladd started her combat sports training at the age of fourteen. Along with BJJ, she also trained in boxing, wrestling, and kickboxing. When she was 18, she made her amateur debut at WCFC. Invicta FC's Sijara Eubanks was her opponent for an rematch of UFC Fight Night dos Anjos against Lee. This was Ladd's debut major fight. The two fighters had a close fight that Ladd beat by a unanimous decision. The two fighters each received the Fight of the Night Bonus. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie finished Ladd after 16 seconds which ended the streak of winning. in the 3rd round on UFC on ESPN 7, she defeated Yana Kunitskaya. In a last-minute substitute to her UFC bout, she fought Norma Dumont during UFC Fight Night 195. Her defeat was decided by unanimous decision.
